Offers of the International Archive for Curative Education

The archive’s holdings—a reference library with approximately 12,000 media items, a large collection of journals, as well as relevant estates and legacies of key figures in the field of curative education—bring together life works, biographies, historical contexts, and theoretical approaches.

Students, researchers, and practitioners can use the collections for study visits, research, and independent academic projects. Each visit usually begins with an introduction to the archive and its structure. The time frame can range from half-day visits to multi-day seminars. Accommodation and catering can be booked at the educational centre.

The holdings are particularly suitable for learning stays, especially for students of curative education. Seminar groups from academies, universities, and vocational schools can independently use the archive for topic-based day events or project days on various aspects of the history of curative education.

On request, we can also organise additional specialist lectures with external speakers on selected topics (e.g. Prof. Dr. Bundschuh; Prof. Dr. Lotz).

Lecturers from universities and training institutions who prepare curative education professionals for their careers can use the archive as a learning site for study trips, teaching sessions, or multi-day excursions. In doing so, curriculum content can be directly connected with work on historical sources.

Suitable rooms are available for the different formats, enabling both focused individual work and collaborative learning.

The reference library extends across several rooms and is particularly suited for smaller groups. The largest room can accommodate up to eight people working together at one table, while the adjacent rooms provide ideal conditions for small-group work.

The seminar room is classically equipped – with a screen, projector, flipchart, moderation kit, and pin boards – and is suitable for groups of up to 20 people.

The archive depot with its archival materials and journal collection comprises five rooms and offers opportunities for individual work.
