Since 2011, the “Park Heroes” have been committed to reviving the historic Trebnitz castle park and, through regular working activities, are making it once again a place of nature and social encounter.
Joint commitment to the castle park
Since 2011, the “Park Heroes” initiative, made up of committed citizens, has been working to revive the historic landscape park in Trebnitz in accordance with heritage garden conservation principles. Over the years, this has created a vibrant place whose historical structure is becoming more visible again and which is increasingly used as a public space.
The focus is on regular, collective working sessions in the park. During these, maintenance and clean-up work is carried out, landscape conservation measures are implemented, and practical tasks for preserving and carefully further developing the site are undertaken. The meetings are open to all interested people and thrive on voluntary engagement from the region, complemented by cooperation with young people and international partners.
Goal and development of the park
The goal of the “Park Heroes” is to preserve and further develop the castle park as a close-to-nature, open, and culturally usable space. It is intended to provide a place for recreation, encounters, and collaborative work – in the spirit of nature conservation and heritage protection, as well as a space for local residents and visitors.
Over time, various initiatives have emerged from the group’s engagement. These also include a bilingual signage system that will guide visitors through the park in the future and highlight its special natural and design features.
Get involved
The “Park Heroes” work sessions are open to all interested participants. Dates are announced here on the website and via our newsletter. Registration at empfang@schloss-trebnitz.de.
