Our project: CAFÉ “Coffee for happiness / Kawa na szczęście”
Since 2012, as part of the project “Coffee for happiness / Kawa na szczęście”, we offer coffee and homemade cakes every weekend in the season. In the project, disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged young people from Germany and Poland, as well as young refugees, learn to run a café together as a mini-business in a sustainable way.
Opening hours (March – November)
Saturday 12 p.m.- 6 p.m.
Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The café “Kaffee zum Glück” was chosen by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) as project of the month June 2016.
A village centre for Trebnitz
The coach house, located at the entrance to the castle driveway, served as a horse stable and a shelter for the inspector’s carriage in estate times. Badly damaged during the Second World War, it was later rebuilt as a residential house. For decades, the building has been visibly decaying.
On March 20, 2015 – after almost one year of construction – the new village centre was ceremoniously inaugurated with the handover of a symbolic key. After short speeches by Dr. Uta Barkusky, the mayor of Müncheberg and Marcin Cyganiak, deputy. District Administrator of Gorzow, the international inclusive junior café “Kaffee zum Glück / Kawa na szczęście” opened the season with coffee, cake, and regional delicacies.
The restoration of the coach house and the expansion of the village centre were supported by the European Union and Aktion Mensch.
